You fool, you have forgotten the Lord from your mind!

लूणु खाइ करहि हरामखोरी पेखत नैन बिदारिओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You eat His salt, and then you are untrue to Him; before your very eyes, you shall be torn apart. ||1||Pause||

Asaadhh Rog Oupajiou Than Bheethar Ttarath N Kaahoo Ttaariou ||
असाध रोगु उपजिओ तन भीतरि टरत न काहू टारिओ ॥
The incurable disease has arisen in your body; it cannot be removed or overcome.

I have enshrined the lotus feet of God within my consciousness.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਨੀਤਾ ਨੀਤ ॥
Har Gun Gaaveh Neethaa Neeth ||
हरि गुण गावह नीता नीत ॥
I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, continually, continuously.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ॥
This Bin Dhoojaa Avar N Kooo ||
तिसु बिनु दूजा अवरु न कोऊ ॥
There is none other than Him at all.
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ॥੧॥

He alone exists, in the beginning, in the middle, and in the end. ||1||

जा कै वसि है सगल संसारु ॥
The entire universe is under His control.
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
Aapae Aap Aap Nirankaar ||
आपे आपि आपि निरंकारु ॥
He Himself, the Formless Lord, is Himself by Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗਹਿਓ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
Naanak Gehiou Saachaa Soe ||
नानक गहिओ साचा सोइ ॥
Nanak holds tight to that True Lord.
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥੯॥

सुखु पाइआ फिरि दूखु न होइ ॥२॥९॥
He has found peace, and shall never suffer pain again. ||2||9||

Praan Sukhadhaathaa Jeea Sukhadhaathaa Thum Kaahae Bisaariou Agiaanathh ||
प्रान सुखदाता जीअ सुखदाता तुम काहे बिसारिओ अगिआनथ ॥
He is the Giver of peace to the breath of life, the Giver of life to the soul; how can you forget Him, you ignorant person?
ਹੋਛਾ ਮਦੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਹੋਏ ਤੁਮ ਬਾਵਰ ਦੁਲਭ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ॥੧॥

होछा मदु चाखि होए तुम बावर दुलभ जनमु अकारथ ॥१॥
You taste the weak, insipid wine, and you have gone insane. You have uselessly wasted this precious human life. ||1||

रे नर ऐसी करहि इआनथ ॥
O man, such is the foolishness you practice.
ਤਜਿ ਸਾਰੰਗਧਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਤੂ ਭੂਲਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਪਟਿਓ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਨਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thaj Saarangadhhar Bhram Thoo Bhoolaa Mohi Lapattiou Dhaasee Sang Saanathh ||1|| Rehaao ||
तजि सारंगधर भ्रमि तू भूला मोहि लपटिओ दासी संगि सानथ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Renouncing the Lord, the Support of the earth, you wander, deluded by doubt; you are engrossed in emotional attachment, associating with Maya, the slave-girl. ||1||Pause||
ਧਰਣੀਧਰੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨੀਚ ਕੁਲ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਵਥ ॥
Dhharaneedhhar Thiaag Neech Kul Saevehi Ho Ho Karath Bihaavathh ||
धरणीधरु तिआगि नीच कुल सेवहि हउ हउ करत बिहावथ ॥
Abandoning the Lord, the Support of the earth, you serve her of lowly ancestry, and you pass you life acting egotistically.
ਫੋਕਟ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧ ਕਹਾਵਥ ॥੨॥
Fokatt Karam Karehi Agiaanee Manamukh Andhh Kehaavathh ||2||
फोकट करम करहि अगिआनी मनमुखि अंध कहावथ ॥२॥
You do useless deeds, you ignorant person; this is why you are called a blind, self-willed manmukh. ||2||
ਸਤਿ ਹੋਤਾ ਅਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਜੋ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜਾਨਥ ॥
Sath Hothaa Asath Kar Maaniaa Jo Binasath So Nihachal Jaanathh ||
सति होता असति करि मानिआ जो बिनसत सो निहचलु जानथ ॥
That which is true, you believe to be untrue; what is transitory, you believe to be permanent.
ਪਰ ਕੀ ਕਉ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਕਰੀ ਐਸੇ ਭੂਲ ਭੁਲਾਨਥ ॥੩॥
Par Kee Ko Apanee Kar Pakaree Aisae Bhool Bhulaanathh ||3||
पर की कउ अपनी करि पकरी ऐसे भूल भुलानथ ॥३॥
You grasp as your own, what belongs to others; in such delusions you are deluded. ||3||
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਸਭ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਨਥ ॥
Khathree Braahaman Soodh Vais Sabh Eaekai Naam Tharaanathh ||
खत्री ब्राहमण सूद वैस सभ एकै नामि तरानथ ॥
The Kh'shaatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaishyas all cross over, through the Name of the One Lord.

Gupath Karathaa Sang So Prabh Ddehakaaveae Manukhaae ||
गुपतु करता संगि सो प्रभु डहकावए मनुखाइ ॥
You may act in secrecy, but God is still with you; you can only deceive other people.
ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਬਿਖੈ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਤਪਤ ਥੰਮ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
Bisaar Har Jeeo Bikhai Bhogehi Thapath Thhanm Gal Laae ||1||
बिसारि हरि जीउ बिखै भोगहि तपत थम गलि लाइ ॥१॥
Forgetting your Dear Lord, you enjoy corrupt pleasures, and so you shall have to embrace red-hot pillars. ||1||

रे नर काइ पर ग्रिहि जाइ ॥
O man, why do you go out to the households of others?
ਕੁਚਲ ਕਠੋਰ ਕਾਮਿ ਗਰਧਭ ਤੁਮ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kuchal Kathor Kaam Garadhhabh Thum Nehee Suniou Dhharam Raae ||1|| Rehaao ||
कुचल कठोर कामि गरधभ तुम नही सुनिओ धरम राइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You filthy, heartless, lustful donkey! Haven't you heard of the Righteous Judge of Dharma? ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਕਾਰ ਪਾਥਰ ਗਲਹਿ ਬਾਧੇ ਨਿੰਦ ਪੋਟ ਸਿਰਾਇ ॥
Bikaar Paathhar Galehi Baadhhae Nindh Pott Siraae ||
बिकार पाथर गलहि बाधे निंद पोट सिराइ ॥
The stone of corruption is tied around your neck, and the load of slander is on your head.
ਮਹਾ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਮੁਦੁ ਲੰਘਨਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਰਨਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
Mehaa Saagar Samudh Langhanaa Paar N Paranaa Jaae ||2||
महा सागरु समुदु लंघना पारि न परना जाइ ॥२॥
You must cross over the vast open ocean, but you cannot cross over to the other side. ||2||
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਲੋਭਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਓ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਰਖੇ ਫਿਰਾਇ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Mohi Biaapiou Naethr Rakhae Firaae ||
कामि क्रोधि लोभि मोहि बिआपिओ नेत्र रखे फिराइ ॥
You are engrossed in sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment; you have turned your eyes away from the Truth.
ਸੀਸੁ ਉਠਾਵਨ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਮਿਲਈ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਤਰ ਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
Sees Outhaavan N Kabehoo Milee Mehaa Dhuthar Maae ||3||
सीसु उठावन न कबहू मिलई महा दुतर माइ ॥३॥
You cannot even raise your head above the water of the vast, impassable sea of Maya. ||3||
ਸੂਰੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਸਸੀ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਲਿਪਾਇ ॥
Soor Mukathaa Sasee Mukathaa Breham Giaanee Alipaae ||
सूरु मुकता ससी मुकता ब्रहम गिआनी अलिपाइ ॥
The sun is liberated, and the moon is liberated; the God-realized being is pure and untouched.
ਸੁਭਾਵਤ ਜੈਸੇ ਬੈਸੰਤਰ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
Subhaavath Jaisae Baisanthar Alipath Sadhaa Niramalaae ||4||
सुभावत जैसे बैसंतर अलिपत सदा निरमलाइ ॥४॥
His inner nature is like that of fire, untouched and forever immaculate. ||4||
ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਖੁਲਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਹਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
Jis Karam Khuliaa This Lehiaa Parradhaa Jin Gur Pehi Manniaa Subhaae ||
जिसु करमु खुलिआ तिसु लहिआ पड़दा जिनि गुर पहि मंनिआ सुभाइ ॥
When good karma dawns, the wall of doubt is torn down. He lovingly accepts the Guru's Will.
