Guramukhaa Man Paratheeth Hai Gur Poorai Naam Samaanee ||1||
गुरमुखा मनि परतीति है गुरि पूरै नामि समाणी ॥१॥
The minds of the Gurmukhs are filled with faith; through the Perfect Guru, they merge in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
Man Maerae Mai Har Har Kathhaa Man Bhaanee ||
मन मेरे मै हरि हरि कथा मनि भाणी ॥
O my mind, the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, is pleasing to my mind.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Har Har Kathhaa Nith Sadhaa Kar Guramukh Akathh Kehaanee ||1|| Rehaao ||
हरि हरि कथा नित सदा करि गुरमुखि अकथ कहाणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Continually and forever, speak the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har; as Gurmukh, speak the Unspoken Speech. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
Mai Man Than Khoj Dtandtoliaa Kio Paaeeai Akathh Kehaanee ||
मै मनु तनु खोजि ढंढोलिआ किउ पाईऐ अकथ कहाणी ॥
I have searched through and through my mind and body; how can I attain this Unspoken Speech?
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
Santh Janaa Mil Paaeiaa Sun Akathh Kathhaa Man Bhaanee ||
संत जना मिलि पाइआ सुणि अकथ कथा मनि भाणी ॥
Meeting with the humble Saints, I have found it; listening to the Unspoken Speech, my mind is pleased.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
Maerai Man Than Naam Adhhaar Har Mai Maelae Purakh Sujaanee ||2||
मेरै मनि तनि नामु अधारु हरि मै मेले पुरखु सुजाणी ॥२॥
The Lord's Name is the Support of my mind and body; I am united with the all-knowing Primal Lord God. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
Gur Purakhai Purakh Milaae Prabh Mil Surathee Surath Samaanee ||
गुर पुरखै पुरखु मिलाइ प्रभ मिलि सुरती सुरति समाणी ॥
The Guru, the Primal Being, has united me with the Primal Lord God. My consciousness has merged into the supreme consciousness.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Gur Saeviaa Har Paaeiaa Sugharr Sujaanee ||
वडभागी गुरु सेविआ हरि पाइआ सुघड़ सुजाणी ॥
By great good fortune, I serve the Guru, and I have found my Lord, all-wise and all-knowing.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
Manamukh Bhaag Vihooniaa Thin Dhukhee Rain Vihaanee ||3||
मनमुख भाग विहूणिआ तिन दुखी रैणि विहाणी ॥३॥
The self-willed manmukhs are very unfortunate; they pass their life-night in misery and pain. ||3||
ਹਮ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਿਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Ham Jaachik Dheen Prabh Thaeriaa Mukh Dheejai Anmrith Baanee ||
हम जाचिक दीन प्रभ तेरिआ मुखि दीजै अम्रित बाणी ॥
I am just a meek beggar at Your Door, God; please, place the Ambrosial Word of Your Bani in my mouth.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
Sathigur Maeraa Mithra Prabh Har Maelahu Sugharr Sujaanee ||
सतिगुरु मेरा मित्रु प्रभ हरि मेलहु सुघड़ सुजाणी ॥
The True Guru is my friend; He unites me with my all-wise, all-knowing Lord God.

हरि भाउ लगा बैरागीआ वडभागी हरि मनि राखु ॥
Detached from the world, I am in love with the Lord; by great good fortune, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਊਪਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
Mil Sangath Saradhhaa Oopajai Gur Sabadhee Har Ras Chaakh ||
मिलि संगति सरधा ऊपजै गुर सबदी हरि रसु चाखु ॥
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, faith has welled up within me; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I taste the sublime essence of the Lord.

सभु मनु तनु हरिआ होइआ गुरबाणी हरि गुण भाखु ॥१॥
My mind and body have totally blossomed forth; through the Word of the Guru's Bani, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
Man Piaariaa Mithraa Har Har Naam Ras Chaakh ||
मन पिआरिआ मित्रा हरि हरि नाम रसु चाखु ॥
O my beloved mind, my friend, taste the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

गुरि पूरै हरि पाइआ हलति पलति पति राखु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Through the Perfect Guru, I have found the Lord, who saves my honor, here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||

हरि हरि नामु धिआईऐ हरि कीरति गुरमुखि चाखु ॥
Meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; as Gurmukh, taste the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਤਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਜੀਐ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
Than Dhharathee Har Beejeeai Vich Sangath Har Prabh Raakh ||
तनु धरती हरि बीजीऐ विचि संगति हरि प्रभ राखु ॥
Plant the seed of the Lord in the body-farm. The Lord God is enshrined within the Sangat, the Holy Congregation.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਾ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਬਹੁ ਲਾਖੁ ॥
Manamukh Thrisanaa Bhar Rehae Man Aasaa Dheh Dhis Bahu Laakh ||
मनमुख त्रिसना भरि रहे मनि आसा दह दिस बहु लाखु ॥
The self-willed manmukhs are filled with hunger and thirst; their minds run around in the ten directions, hoping for great wealth.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
Bin Naavai Dhhrig Jeevadhae Vich Bisattaa Manamukh Raakh ||
बिनु नावै ध्रिगु जीवदे विचि बिसटा मनमुख राखु ॥
Without the Name of the Lord, their life is cursed; the manmukhs are stuck in manure.
ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੩॥
Oue Aavehi Jaahi Bhavaaeeahi Bahu Jonee Dhuragandhh Bhaakh ||3||
ओइ आवहि जाहि भवाईअहि बहु जोनी दुरगंध भाखु ॥३॥
They come and go, and are consigned to wander through uncounted incarnations, eating stinking rot. ||3||
ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
Thraahi Thraahi Saranaagathee Har Dhaeiaa Dhhaar Prabh Raakh ||
त्राहि त्राहि सरणागती हरि दइआ धारि प्रभ राखु ॥
Begging, imploring, I seek Your Sanctuary; Lord, shower me with Your Mercy, and save me, God.

संतसंगति मेलापु करि हरि नामु मिलै पति साखु ॥
Lead me to join the Society of the Saints, and bless me with the honor and glory of the Lord's Name.

गुरमुखि रामु करे निसतारा ॥
The Gurmukh is emancipated by the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Jis No Kirapaa Karae Maeraa Suaamee So Har Kae Gun Gaavai Jeeo ||1||
जिस नो क्रिपा करे मेरा सुआमी सो हरि के गुण गावै जीउ ॥१॥
One who is blessed by the Mercy of my Lord and Master sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

Har Hiradhai Sadhaa Sadhaa Samaalee ||
हरि हिरदै सदा सदा समाली ॥
That within my heart, I may dwell upon You, Lord, forever and ever.
