He alone understands You, Lord, with whom You are pleased.

जो तुधु भाणा जंतु सु दरगह सिझई ॥
He alone is approved in the Court of the Lord, with whom You are pleased.

Egotism is eradicated, when You bestow Your Grace.

जिस नो तू संतुसटु कलमल तिसु खई ॥
Sins are erased, when You are thoroughly pleased.

Jis Kai Suaamee Val Nirabho So Bhee ||
जिस कै सुआमी वलि निरभउ सो भई ॥
One who has the Lord Master on his side, becomes fearless.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋ ਥਿਅਈ ॥

जिस नो तू किरपालु सचा सो थिअई ॥
One who is blessed with Your Mercy, becomes truthful.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਇਆ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ਅਗਨਈ ॥
Jis No Thaeree Maeiaa N Pohai Aganee ||
जिस नो तेरी मइआ न पोहै अगनई ॥
One who is blessed with Your Kindness, is not touched by fire.

करि किरपा किरपाल आपे बखसि लै ॥
Please grant Your Grace, O Merciful Lord; please forgive me.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਇ ਪੈ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Japee Thaeraa Naam Sathigur Paae Pai ||
सदा सदा जपी तेरा नामु सतिगुर पाइ पै ॥
Forever and ever, I chant Your Name; I fall at the feet of the True Guru.
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸੁ ਦੂਖਾ ਨਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

मन तन अंतरि वसु दूखा नासु होइ ॥
Please, dwell within my mind and body, and end my sufferings.
ਹਥ ਦੇਇ ਆਪਿ ਰਖੁ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਭਉ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

हथ देइ आपि रखु विआपै भउ न कोइ ॥
Please give me Your hand, and save me, that fear may not afflict me.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਤੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਲਾਇ ॥

गुण गावा दिनु रैणि एतै कमि लाइ ॥
May I sing Your Glorious Praises day and night; please commit me to this task.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Santh Janaa Kai Sang Houmai Rog Jaae ||
संत जना कै संगि हउमै रोगु जाइ ॥
Associating with the humble Saints, the disease of egotism is eradicated.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
Sarab Niranthar Khasam Eaeko Rav Rehiaa ||
सरब निरंतरि खसमु एको रवि रहिआ ॥
The One Lord and Master is all-pervading, permeating everywhere.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਲਹਿਆ ॥
Gur Parasaadhee Sach Sacho Sach Lehiaa ||
गुर परसादी सचु सचो सचु लहिआ ॥
By Guru's Grace, I have truly found the Truest of the True.
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਪਣੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥
Dhaeiaa Karahu Dhaeiaal Apanee Sifath Dhaehu ||
दइआ करहु दइआल अपणी सिफति देहु ॥
Please bless me with Your Kindness, O Kind Lord, and bless me with Your Praises.

ਏਕੋ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
Eaeko Japeeai Manai Maahi Eikas Kee Saranaae ||
एको जपीऐ मनै माहि इकस की सरणाइ ॥
Meditate on the One Lord within your mind, and enter the Sanctuary of the One Lord alone.
ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
Eikas Sio Kar Pireharree Dhoojee Naahee Jaae ||
इकसु सिउ करि पिरहड़ी दूजी नाही जाइ ॥
Be in love with the One Lord; there is no other at all.
ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
Eiko Dhaathaa Mangeeai Sabh Kishh Palai Paae ||
इको दाता मंगीऐ सभु किछु पलै पाइ ॥
Beg from the One Lord, the Great Giver, and you will be blessed with everything.
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
Man Than Saas Giraas Prabh Eiko Eik Dhhiaae ||
मनि तनि सासि गिरासि प्रभु इको इकु धिआइ ॥
In your mind and body, with each breath and morsel of food, meditate on the One and only Lord God.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Anmrith Naam Nidhhaan Sach Guramukh Paaeiaa Jaae ||
अम्रितु नामु निधानु सचु गुरमुखि पाइआ जाइ ॥
The Gurmukh obtains the true treasure, the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Thae Santh Jan Jin Man Vuthaa Aae ||
वडभागी ते संत जन जिन मनि वुठा आइ ॥
Very fortunate are those humble Saints, within whose minds the Lord has come to abide.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Jal Thhal Meheeal Rav Rehiaa Dhoojaa Koee Naahi ||
जलि थलि महीअलि रवि रहिआ दूजा कोई नाहि ॥
He is pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; there is no other at all.
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
Naam Dhhiaaee Naam Oucharaa Naanak Khasam Rajaae ||2||
नामु धिआई नामु उचरा नानक खसम रजाइ ॥२॥
Meditating on the Naam, and chanting the Naam, Nanak abides in the Will of his Lord and Master. ||2||

One who has You as his Saving Grace - who can kill him?
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਜਿਤਾ ਤਿਨੈ ਭੈਣੁ ॥
Jis No Thoo Rakhavaalaa Jithaa Thinai Bhain ||
जिस नो तू रखवाला जिता तिनै भैणु ॥
One who has You as his Saving Grace conquers the three worlds.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ॥
Jis No Thaeraa Ang This Mukh Oujalaa ||
जिस नो तेरा अंगु तिसु मुखु उजला ॥
One who has You on his side - his face is radiant and bright.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਹੂੰ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ॥
Jis No Thaeraa Ang S Niramalee Hoon Niramalaa ||
जिस नो तेरा अंगु सु निरमली हूं निरमला ॥
One who has You on his side, is the purest of the Pure.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛੀਐ ॥
Jis No Thaeree Nadhar N Laekhaa Pushheeai ||
जिस नो तेरी नदरि न लेखा पुछीऐ ॥
One who is blessed with Your Grace is not called to give his account.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਖੁਸੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਭੁੰਚੀਐ ॥
Jis No Thaeree Khusee Thin No Nidhh Bhuncheeai ||
जिस नो तेरी खुसी तिनि नउ निधि भुंचीऐ ॥
One with whom You are pleased, obtains the nine treasures.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹਛੰਦਗੀ ॥

जिस नो तू प्रभ वलि तिसु किआ मुहछंदगी ॥
One who has You on his side, God - unto whom is he subservient?
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਿਗੀ ॥੮॥

जिस नो तेरी मिहर सु तेरी बंदिगी ॥८॥
One who is blessed with Your Kind Mercy is dedicated to Your worship. ||8||

होहु क्रिपाल सुआमी मेरे संतां संगि विहावे ॥
Be Merciful, O my Lord and Master, that I may pass my life in the Society of the Saints.
ਤੁਧਹੁ ਭੁਲੇ ਸਿ ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੁਕਨਿ ਹਾਵੇ ॥੧॥
Thudhhahu Bhulae S Jam Jam Maradhae Thin Kadhae N Chukan Haavae ||1||
तुधहु भुले सि जमि जमि मरदे तिन कदे न चुकनि हावे ॥१॥
Those who forget You are born only to die and be reincarnated again; their sufferings will never end. ||1||

सतिगुरु सिमरहु आपणा घटि अवघटि घट घाट ॥
Meditate in remembrance within your heart on the True Guru, whether you are on the most difficult path, on the mountain or by the river bank.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਤਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਬੰਧੈ ਵਾਟ ॥੨॥
Har Har Naam Japanthiaa Koe N Bandhhai Vaatt ||2||
हरि हरि नामु जपंतिआ कोइ न बंधै वाट ॥२॥
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, no one shall block your way. ||2||
