Aithhai Naavahu Bhuliaa Fir Hathh Kithhaaoo N Paae ||
ऐथै नावहु भुलिआ फिरि हथु किथाऊ न पाइ ॥
One who forgets the Name in this world, shall not find any place of rest anywhere else.
ਜੋਨੀ ਸਭਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਨਿ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
Jonee Sabh Bhavaaeean Bisattaa Maahi Samaae ||2||
जोनी सभि भवाईअनि बिसटा माहि समाइ ॥२॥
He shall wander in all sorts of reincarnations, and rot away in manure. ||2||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਇ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Gur Paaeiaa Poorab Likhiaa Maae ||
वडभागी गुरु पाइआ पूरबि लिखिआ माइ ॥
By great good fortune, I have found the Guru, according to my pre-ordained destiny, O my mother.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
Anadhin Sachee Bhagath Kar Sachaa Leae Milaae ||3||
अनदिनु सची भगति करि सचा लए मिलाइ ॥३॥
Night and day, I practice true devotional worship; I am united with the True Lord. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
Aapae Srisatt Sabh Saajeean Aapae Nadhar Karaee ||
आपे स्रिसटि सभ साजीअनु आपे नदरि करेइ ॥
He Himself fashioned the entire universe; He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੪॥੨॥

O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is glorious and great; as He pleases, He bestows His Blessings. ||4||2||

Pishhalae Guneh Bakhasaae Jeeo Ab Thoo Maarag Paae ||
पिछले गुनह बखसाइ जीउ अब तू मारगि पाइ ॥
Please forgive my past mistakes, O my Dear Lord; now, please place me on the Path.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥
Har Kee Charanee Laag Rehaa Vichahu Aap Gavaae ||1||
हरि की चरणी लागि रहा विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥१॥
I remain attached to the Lord's Feet, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥

मेरे मन गुरमुखि नामु हरि धिआइ ॥
O my mind, as Gurmukh, meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹਾ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਏਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

सदा हरि चरणी लागि रहा इक मनि एकै भाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Remain attached forever to the Lord's Feet,single-mindedly,with love for the One Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਮੈ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਮੈ ਥੇਹੁ ਨ ਥਾਉ ॥
Naa Mai Jaath N Path Hai Naa Mai Thhaehu N Thhaao ||
ना मै जाति न पति है ना मै थेहु न थाउ ॥
I have no social status or honor; I have no place or home.
ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥੨॥
Sabadh Bhaedh Bhram Kattiaa Gur Naam Dheeaa Samajhaae ||2||
सबदि भेदि भ्रमु कटिआ गुरि नामु दीआ समझाइ ॥२॥
Pierced through by the Word of the Shabad, my doubts have been cut away. The Guru has inspired me to understand the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
Eihu Man Laalach Karadhaa Firai Laalach Laagaa Jaae ||
इहु मनु लालच करदा फिरै लालचि लागा जाइ ॥
This mind wanders around, driven by greed, totally attached to greed.
ਧੰਧੈ ਕੂੜਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਇ ॥੩॥
Dhhandhhai Koorr Viaapiaa Jam Pur Chottaa Khaae ||3||
धंधै कूड़ि विआपिआ जम पुरि चोटा खाइ ॥३॥
He is engrossed in false pursuits; he shall endure beatings in the City of Death. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
Naanak Sabh Kishh Aapae Aap Hai Dhoojaa Naahee Koe ||
नानक सभु किछु आपे आपि है दूजा नाही कोइ ॥
O Nanak, God Himself Himself is all-in-all. There is no other at all.
ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਬਖਸਿਓਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
Bhagath Khajaanaa Bakhasioun Guramukhaa Sukh Hoe ||4||3||
भगति खजाना बखसिओनु गुरमुखा सुखु होइ ॥४॥३॥
He bestows the treasure of devotional worship, and the Gurmukhs abide in peace. ||4||3||

ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਟੋਲਿ ਲਹੁ ਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
Sach Rathae Sae Ttol Lahu Sae Viralae Sansaar ||
सचि रते से टोलि लहु से विरले संसारि ॥
Seek and find those who are imbued with Truth; they are so rare in this world.
ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
Thin Miliaa Mukh Oujalaa Jap Naam Muraar ||1||
तिन मिलिआ मुखु उजला जपि नामु मुरारि ॥१॥
Meeting with them, one's face becomes radiant and bright, chanting the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਬਾਬਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥

बाबा साचा साहिबु रिदै समालि ॥
O Baba, contemplate and cherish the True Lord and Master within your heart.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਪੁਛਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਭਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sathigur Apanaa Pushh Dhaekh Laehu Vakhar Bhaal ||1|| Rehaao ||
सतिगुरु अपना पुछि देखु लेहु वखरु भालि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Seek out and see, and ask your True Guru, and obtain the true commodity. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਭ ਸੇਵਦੀ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Eik Sachaa Sabh Saevadhee Dhhur Bhaag Milaavaa Hoe ||
इकु सचा सभ सेवदी धुरि भागि मिलावा होइ ॥
All serve the One True Lord; through pre-ordained destiny, they meet Him.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
Guramukh Milae Sae N Vishhurrehi Paavehi Sach Soe ||2||
गुरमुखि मिले से न विछुड़हि पावहि सचु सोइ ॥२॥
The Gurmukhs merge with Him, and will not be separated from Him again; they attain the True Lord. ||2||
ਇਕਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥
Eik Bhagathee Saar N Jaananee Manamukh Bharam Bhulaae ||
इकि भगती सार न जाणनी मनमुख भरमि भुलाइ ॥
Some do not appreciate the value of devotional worship; the self-willed manmukhs are deluded by doubt.
ਓਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਕਰਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Ounaa Vich Aap Varathadhaa Karanaa Kishhoo N Jaae ||3||
ओना विचि आपि वरतदा करणा किछू न जाइ ॥३॥
They are fillled with self-conceit; they cannot accomplish anything. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਚਲਈ ਖਲੇ ਕੀਚੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
Jis Naal Jor N Chalee Khalae Keechai Aradhaas ||
जिसु नालि जोरु न चलई खले कीचै अरदासि ॥
Stand and offer your prayer, to the One who cannot be moved by force.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੪॥
Naanak Guramukh Naam Man Vasai Thaa Sun Karae Saabaas ||4||4||
नानक गुरमुखि नामु मनि वसै ता सुणि करे साबासि ॥४॥४॥
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within the mind of the Gurmukh; hearing his prayer, the Lord applauds him. ||4||4||

मारू ते सीतलु करे मनूरहु कंचनु होइ ॥
He transforms the burning desert into a cool oasis; he transmutes rusted iron into gold.
ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
So Saachaa Saalaaheeai This Jaevadd Avar N Koe ||1||
सो साचा सालाहीऐ तिसु जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥१॥
So praise the True Lord; there is none other as great as He is. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
Maerae Man Anadhin Dhhiaae Har Naao ||
मेरे मन अनदिनु धिआइ हरि नाउ ॥
O my mind, night and day, meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਤੂ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sathigur Kai Bachan Araadhh Thoo Anadhin Gun Gaao ||1|| Rehaao ||
सतिगुर कै बचनि अराधि तू अनदिनु गुण गाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Contemplate the Word of the Guru's Teachings, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, night and day. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥
Guramukh Eaeko Jaaneeai Jaa Sathigur Dhaee Bujhaae ||
गुरमुखि एको जाणीऐ जा सतिगुरु देइ बुझाइ ॥
As Gurmukh, one comes to know the One Lord, when the True Guru instructs him.
ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਦੂ ਏਹ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
So Sathigur Saalaaheeai Jidhoo Eaeh Sojhee Paae ||2||
सो सतिगुरु सालाहीऐ जिदू एह सोझी पाइ ॥२॥
Praise the True Guru, who imparts this understanding. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਨਿ ਅਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
Sathigur Shhodd Dhoojai Lagae Kiaa Karan Agai Jaae ||
सतिगुरु छोडि दूजै लगे किआ करनि अगै जाइ ॥
Those who forsake the True Guru, and attach themselves to duality - what will they do when they go to the world hereafter?
ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Jam Pur Badhhae Maareeahi Bahuthee Milai Sajaae ||3||
जम पुरि बधे मारीअहि बहुती मिलै सजाइ ॥३॥
Bound and gagged in the City of Death, they will be beaten. They will be punished severely. ||3||
