O my mind, meditate, vibrate on the Lord, and all sins will be eradicated.

मेरे हरि प्रभ की मै बात सुनावै तिसु मनु देवउ कटि काट ॥
Whoever tells me the stories of my Lord God, I would cut my mind into slices, and dedicate it to him.

हरि साजनु मेलिओ गुरि पूरै गुर बचनि बिकानो हटि हाट ॥१॥
The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, my Friend; I have sold myself at each and every store for the Guru's Word. ||1||
ਮਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਗਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਅਧ ਕਾਟਿ ॥
Makar Praag Dhaan Bahu Keeaa Sareer Dheeou Adhh Kaatt ||
मकर प्रागि दानु बहु कीआ सरीरु दीओ अध काटि ॥
One may give donations in charity at Prayaag, and cut the body in two at Benares,
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥੨॥
Bin Har Naam Ko Mukath N Paavai Bahu Kanchan Dheejai Katt Kaatt ||2||
बिनु हरि नाम को मुकति न पावै बहु कंचनु दीजै कटि काट ॥२॥
But without the Lord's Name, no one attains liberation, even though one may give away huge amounts of gold. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਘਰੇ ਕਪਟ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
Har Keerath Guramath Jas Gaaeiou Man Ougharae Kapatt Kapaatt ||
हरि कीरति गुरमति जसु गाइओ मनि उघरे कपट कपाट ॥
When one follows the Guru's Teachings, and sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, the doors of the mind, held shut by deception, are thrown open again.
ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਫੋਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਲਜ ਭਾਨੀ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੩॥
Thrikuttee For Bharam Bho Bhaagaa Laj Bhaanee Mattukee Maatt ||3||
त्रिकुटी फोरि भरमु भउ भागा लज भानी मटुकी माट ॥३॥
The three qualities are shattered, doubt and fear run away, and the clay pot of public opinion is broken. ||3||
ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਲਿਲਾਟ ॥
Kalajug Gur Pooraa Thin Paaeiaa Jin Dhhur Masathak Likhae Lilaatt ||
कलजुगि गुरु पूरा तिन पाइआ जिन धुरि मसतकि लिखे लिलाट ॥
They alone find the Perfect Guru in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, upon whose foreheads such pre-ordained destiny is inscribed.

जिना मसतकि लीखिआ ते मिले संगार ॥
They alone join the Sangat, the Congregation, upon whose forehead such destiny is inscribed.
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥
Sansaar Bhoujal Thaariaa Har Santh Purakh Apaar ||1||
संसारु भउजलु तारिआ हरि संत पुरख अपार ॥१॥
They are carried across the terrifying world-ocean by the Saints of the Infinite, Primal Lord God. ||1||
ਨਿਤ ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਤਜਿ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
Nith Charan Saevahu Saadhh Kae Thaj Lobh Moh Bikaar ||
नित चरन सेवहु साध के तजि लोभ मोह बिकार ॥
Serve forever at the feet of the Holy; renounce greed, emotional attachment and corruption.
ਸਭ ਤਜਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸੜੀ ਰਖੁ ਆਸ ਇਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੨॥
Sabh Thajahu Dhoojee Aasarree Rakh Aas Eik Nirankaar ||2||
सभ तजहु दूजी आसड़ी रखु आस इक निरंकार ॥२॥
Abandon all other hopes, and rest your hopes in the One Formless Lord. ||2||
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਾਕਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧ ਅੰਧਾਰ ॥
Eik Bharam Bhoolae Saakathaa Bin Gur Andhh Andhhaar ||
इकि भरमि भूले साकता बिनु गुर अंध अंधार ॥
Some are faithless cynics, deluded by doubt; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.
ਧੁਰਿ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ ॥੩॥
Dhhur Hovanaa S Hoeiaa Ko N Maettanehaar ||3||
धुरि होवना सु होइआ को न मेटणहार ॥३॥
Whatever is pre-ordained, comes to pass; no one can erase it. ||3||
ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
Agam Roop Gobindh Kaa Anik Naam Apaar ||
अगम रूपु गोबिंद का अनिक नाम अपार ॥
The beauty of the Lord of the Universe is profound and unfathomable; the Names of the Infinite Lord are immunerable.

धनु धंनु ते जन नानका जिन हरि नामा उरि धार ॥४॥१॥

I humbly bow to the Name of the Lord.
ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जासु जपत होवत उधार ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Chanting it, one is saved. ||1||Pause||

जा कै सिमरनि मिटहि धंध ॥
Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਬੰਧ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Shhoottehi Bandhh ||
जा कै सिमरनि छूटहि बंध ॥
Meditating on Him, one's bonds are untied.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਚਤੁਰ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Moorakh Chathur ||
जा कै सिमरनि मूरख चतुर ॥
Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕੁਲਹ ਉਧਰ ॥੧॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Kuleh Oudhhar ||1||
जा कै सिमरनि कुलह उधर ॥१॥
Meditating on Him, one's ancestors are saved. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੈ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Bho Dhukh Harai ||
जा कै सिमरनि भउ दुख हरै ॥
Meditating on Him, fear and pain are taken away.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੈ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Apadhaa Ttarai ||
जा कै सिमरनि अपदा टरै ॥
Meditating on Him, misfortune is avoided.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੁਚਤ ਪਾਪ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Muchath Paap ||
जा कै सिमरनि मुचत पाप ॥
Meditating on Him, sins are erased.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Nehee Santhaap ||2||
जा कै सिमरनि नही संताप ॥२॥
Meditating on Him, agony is ended. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਦ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Ridh Bigaas ||
जा कै सिमरनि रिद बिगास ॥
Meditating on Him, the heart blossoms forth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਵਲਾ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Kavalaa Dhaas ||
जा कै सिमरनि कवला दासि ॥
Meditating on Him, Maya becomes one's slave.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Nidhh Nidhhaan ||
जा कै सिमरनि निधि निधान ॥
Meditating on Him, one is blessed with the treasures of wealth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤਰੇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥
Jaa Kai Simaran Tharae Nidhaan ||3||
जा कै सिमरनि तरे निदान ॥३॥
Meditating on Him, one crosses over in the end. ||3||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥
Pathith Paavan Naam Haree ||
पतित पावनु नामु हरी ॥
The Name of the Lord is the Purifier of sinners.
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਗਤ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਕਰੀ ॥
Kott Bhagath Oudhhaar Karee ||
कोटि भगत उधारु करी ॥
It saves millions of devotees.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਾ ਦੀਨੁ ਸਰਨ ॥
Har Dhaas Dhaasaa Dheen Saran ||
हरि दास दासा दीनु सरन ॥
I am meek; I seek the Sanctuary of the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੨॥
Naanak Maathhaa Santh Charan ||4||2||
नानक माथा संत चरन ॥४॥२॥
Nanak lays his forehead on the feet of the Saints. ||4||2||

बूडत कउ जैसे बेड़ी मिलत ॥
