ऊतम जगंनाथ जगदीसुर हम पापी सरनि रखे ॥
The Exalted Lord of the World, the Master of the Universe, keeps a sinner like me in His Sanctuary
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖੇ ॥੧॥
Thum Vadd Purakh Dheen Dhukh Bhanjan Har Dheeou Naam Mukhae ||1||
तुम वड पुरख दीन दुख भंजन हरि दीओ नामु मुखे ॥१॥
You are the Greatest Being, Lord, Destroyer of the pains of the meek; You have placed Your Name in my mouth, Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਹਮ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਖੇ ॥
Har Gun Ooch Neech Ham Gaaeae Gur Sathigur Sang Sakhae ||
हरि गुन ऊच नीच हम गाए गुर सतिगुर संगि सखे ॥
I am lowly, but I sing the Lofty Praises of the Lord, meeting with the Guru, the True Guru, my Friend.
ਜਿਉ ਚੰਦਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਿੰਮੁ ਬਿਰਖਾ ਗੁਨ ਚੰਦਨ ਕੇ ਬਸਖੇ ॥੨॥
Jio Chandhan Sang Basai Ninm Birakhaa Gun Chandhan Kae Basakhae ||2||
जिउ चंदन संगि बसै निमु बिरखा गुन चंदन के बसखे ॥२॥
Like the bitter nimm tree, growing near the sandalwood tree, I am permeated with the fragrance of sandalwood. ||2||
ਹਮਰੇ ਅਵਗਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਨਿਮਖੇ ॥
Hamarae Avagan Bikhiaa Bikhai Kae Bahu Baar Baar Nimakhae ||
हमरे अवगन बिखिआ बिखै के बहु बार बार निमखे ॥
My faults and sins of corruption are countless; over and over again, I commit them.
ਅਵਗਨਿਆਰੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਭਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਖੇ ॥੩॥
Avaganiaarae Paathhar Bhaarae Har Thaarae Sang Janakhae ||3||
अवगनिआरे पाथर भारे हरि तारे संगि जनखे ॥३॥
I am unworthy, I am a heavy stone sinking down; but the Lord has carried me across, in association with His humble servants. ||3||

जिन कउ तुम हरि राखहु सुआमी सभ तिन के पाप क्रिखे ॥
Those whom You save, Lord - all their sins are destroyed.

जनम जनम के भूल चूक हम अब आए प्रभ सरनगे ॥
Mistaken and confused for so many past lives, I have now come and entered the Sanctuary of God.

तुम सरणागति प्रतिपालक सुआमी हम राखहु वड पापगे ॥१॥
O my Lord and Master, You are the Cherisher of those who come to Your Sanctuary. I am such a great sinner - please save me! ||1||

तुमरी संगति हरि को को न उधरिओ प्रभ कीए पतित पवगे ॥
Associating with You, Lord, who would not be saved? Only God sanctifies the sinners.

गुन गावत छीपा दुसटारिओ प्रभि राखी पैज जनगे ॥२॥
Naam Dayv, the calico printer, was driven out by the evil villains, as he sang Your Glorious Praises; O God, You protected the honor of Your humble servant. ||2||
ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਨਗੇ ॥
Jo Thumarae Gun Gaavehi Suaamee Ho Bal Bal Bal Thinagae ||
जो तुमरे गुन गावहि सुआमी हउ बलि बलि बलि तिनगे ॥
Those who sing Your Glorious Praises, O my Lord and Master - I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to them.
ਭਵਨ ਭਵਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਏ ਜਹ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰੀ ਜਨ ਪਗੇ ॥੩॥
Bhavan Bhavan Pavithr Sabh Keeeae Jeh Dhhoor Paree Jan Pagae ||3||
भवन भवन पवित्र सभि कीए जह धूरि परी जन पगे ॥३॥
Those houses and homes are sanctified, upon which the dust of the feet of the humble settles. ||3||

तुमरे गुन प्रभ कहि न सकहि हम तुम वड वड पुरख वडगे ॥
I cannot describe Your Glorious Virtues, God; You are the greatest of the great, O Great Primal Lord God.

Kilabikh Paap Naam Har Kaattae Jiv Khaeth Kirasaan Lunae ||1||
किलबिख पाप नाम हरि काटे जिव खेत क्रिसानि लुने ॥१॥
The Lord's Name cuts down all sins, like the farmer cutting down his crops. ||1||
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਮ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨੇ ॥

तुमरी उपमा तुम ही प्रभ जानहु हम कहि न सकहि हरि गुने ॥

माइआ फास बंध बहु बंधे हरि जपिओ खुल खुलने ॥
The mortals are bound by the many bonds of Maya's noose. Meditating on the Lord, the knot is untied
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ ਤਦੂਐ ਬਾਂਧਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਮੋਖ ਮੁਖਨੇ ॥੩॥
Jio Jal Kunchar Thadhooai Baandhhiou Har Chaethiou Mokh Mukhanae ||3||
जिउ जल कुंचरु तदूऐ बांधिओ हरि चेतिओ मोख मुखने ॥३॥
Like the elephant, which was caught in the water by the crococile; it remembered the Lord, and chanted the Lord's Name, and was released. ||3||
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤੁਮ ਖੋਜਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗਨੇ ॥
Suaamee Paarabreham Paramaesar Thum Khojahu Jug Juganae ||
सुआमी पारब्रहम परमेसरु तुम खोजहु जुग जुगने ॥
O my Lord and Master, Supreme Lord God, Transcendent Lord, throughout the ages, mortals search for You.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਥਾਹ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਡਨੇ ॥੪॥੫॥
