ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
Har Har Naam Nidhhaan Lai Guramath Har Path Paae ||
हरि हरि नामु निधानु लै गुरमति हरि पति पाइ ॥
Take the treasure of the Name of the Lord Har Har. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and the Lord shall bless you with honor.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਲਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
Halath Palath Naal Chaladhaa Har Anthae Leae Shhaddaae ||
हलति पलति नालि चलदा हरि अंते लए छडाइ ॥
Here and hereafter, the Lord goes with you; in the end, He shall deliver you.
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਵਘਟ ਗਲੀਆ ਭੀੜੀਆ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
Jithhai Avaghatt Galeeaa Bheerreeaa Thithhai Har Har Mukath Karaae ||1||
जिथै अवघट गलीआ भीड़ीआ तिथै हरि हरि मुकति कराइ ॥१॥
Where the path is difficult and the street is narrow, there the Lord shall liberate you. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ॥
Maerae Sathiguraa Mai Har Har Naam Dhrirraae ||
मेरे सतिगुरा मै हरि हरि नामु द्रिड़ाइ ॥
O my True Guru, implant within me the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪੋ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Maeraa Maath Pithaa Suth Bandhhapo Mai Har Bin Avar N Maae ||1|| Rehaao ||
मेरा मात पिता सुत बंधपो मै हरि बिनु अवरु न माइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord is my mother, father, child and relative; I have none other than the Lord, O my mother. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥
Mai Har Birehee Har Naam Hai Koee Aan Milaavai Maae ||
मै हरि बिरही हरि नामु है कोई आणि मिलावै माइ ॥
I feel the pains of love and yearning for the Lord, and the Name of the Lord. If only someone would come and unite me with Him, O my mother.
ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੈ ਜੋਦੜੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
This Aagai Mai Jodharree Maeraa Preetham Dhaee Milaae ||
तिसु आगै मै जोदड़ी मेरा प्रीतमु देइ मिलाइ ॥
I bow in humble devotion to one who inspires me to meet with my Beloved.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਢਿਲ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
Sathigur Purakh Dhaeiaal Prabh Har Maelae Dtil N Paae ||2||
सतिगुरु पुरखु दइआल प्रभु हरि मेले ढिल न पाइ ॥२॥
The almighty and merciful True Guru unites me with the Lord God instantaneously. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jin Har Har Naam N Chaethiou Sae Bhaageheen Mar Jaae ||
जिन हरि हरि नामु न चेतिओ से भागहीण मरि जाइ ॥
Those who do not remember the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are most unfortunate, and are slaughtered.
ਓਇ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
Oue Fir Fir Jon Bhavaaeeahi Mar Janmehi Aavai Jaae ||
ओइ फिरि फिरि जोनि भवाईअहि मरि जमहि आवै जाइ ॥
They wander in reincarnation, again and again; they die, and are re-born, and continue coming and going.
ਓਇ ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Oue Jam Dhar Badhhae Maareeahi Har Dharageh Milai Sajaae ||3||
ओइ जम दरि बधे मारीअहि हरि दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥३॥
Bound and gagged at Death's Door, they are cruelly beaten, and punished in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਮ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
Thoo Prabh Ham Saranaagathee Mo Ko Mael Laihu Har Raae ||
तू प्रभु हम सरणागती मो कउ मेलि लैहु हरि राइ ॥
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary; O my Sovereign Lord King, please unite me with Yourself.
ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
Har Dhhaar Kirapaa Jagajeevanaa Gur Sathigur Kee Saranaae ||
हरि धारि क्रिपा जगजीवना गुर सतिगुर की सरणाइ ॥
O Lord, Life of the World, please shower me with Your Mercy; grant me the Sanctuary of the Guru, the True Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
Har Jeeo Aap Dhaeiaal Hoe Jan Naanak Har Maelaae ||4||1||3||
हरि जीउ आपि दइआलु होइ जन नानक हरि मेलाइ ॥४॥१॥३॥
The Dear Lord, becoming merciful, has blended servant Nanak with Himself. ||4||1||3||

Maaroo, Fourth Mehl:
ਹਉ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਸਾਇਦਾ ਕੋ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Ho Poonjee Naam Dhasaaeidhaa Ko Dhasae Har Dhhan Raas ||
हउ पूंजी नामु दसाइदा को दसे हरि धनु रासि ॥
I inquire about the commodity of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Is there anyone who can show me the wealth, the capital of the Lord?
ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਖਨ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Ho This Vittahu Khan Khanneeai Mai Maelae Har Prabh Paas ||
हउ तिसु विटहु खन खंनीऐ मै मेले हरि प्रभ पासि ॥
I cut myself into pieces, and make myself a sacrifice to that one who leads me to meet my Lord God.
ਮੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਪਿਰੰਮ ਕਾ ਕਿਉ ਸਜਣੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
Mai Anthar Praem Piranm Kaa Kio Sajan Milai Milaas ||1||
मै अंतरि प्रेमु पिरम का किउ सजणु मिलै मिलासि ॥१॥
I am filled with the Love of my Beloved; how can I meet my Friend, and merge with Him? ||1||
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Man Piaariaa Mithraa Mai Har Har Naam Dhhan Raas ||
मन पिआरिआ मित्रा मै हरि हरि नामु धनु रासि ॥
O my beloved friend, my mind, I take the wealth, the capital of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਧੀਰਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Poorai Naam Dhrirraaeiaa Har Dhheerak Har Saabaas ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुरि पूरै नामु द्रिड़ाइआ हरि धीरक हरि साबासि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Naam within me; the Lord is my support - I celebrate the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੈ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Har Har Aap Milaae Gur Mai Dhasae Har Dhhan Raas ||
हरि हरि आपि मिलाइ गुरु मै दसे हरि धनु रासि ॥
O my Guru, please unite me with the Lord, Har, Har; show me the wealth, the capital of the Lord.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਜਨ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਜਾਸਿ ॥
Bin Gur Praem N Labhee Jan Vaekhahu Man Nirajaas ||
बिनु गुर प्रेमु न लभई जन वेखहु मनि निरजासि ॥
Without the Guru, love does not well up; see this, and know it in your mind.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
Har Gur Vich Aap Rakhiaa Har Maelae Gur Saabaas ||2||
हरि गुर विचि आपु रखिआ हरि मेले गुर साबासि ॥२॥
The Lord has installed Himself within the Guru; so praise the Guru, who unites us with the Lord. ||2||
ਸਾਗਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Saagar Bhagath Bhanddaar Har Poorae Sathigur Paas ||
सागर भगति भंडार हरि पूरे सतिगुर पासि ॥
The ocean, the treasure of devotional worship of the Lord, rests with the Perfect True Guru.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਦੇਇ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥
Sathigur Thuthaa Khol Dhaee Mukh Guramukh Har Paragaas ||
सतिगुरु तुठा खोलि देइ मुखि गुरमुखि हरि परगासि ॥
When it pleases the True Guru, He opens the treasure, and and the Gurmukhs are illuminated by the Lord's Light.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਖ ਮੁਈਆ ਕੰਧੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
Manamukh Bhaag Vihooniaa Thikh Mueeaa Kandhhee Paas ||3||
मनमुखि भाग विहूणिआ तिख मुईआ कंधी पासि ॥३॥
The unfortunate self-willed manmukhs die of thirst, on the very bank of the river. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਉ ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Gur Dhaathaa Dhaathaar Hai Ho Maago Dhaan Gur Paas ||
गुरु दाता दातारु है हउ मागउ दानु गुर पासि ॥
The Guru is the Great Giver; I beg for this gift from the Guru,
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਡੜੀ ਆਸ ॥
Chiree Vishhunnaa Mael Prabh Mai Man Than Vaddarree Aas ||
चिरी विछुंना मेलि प्रभ मै मनि तनि वडड़ी आस ॥
That He may unite me with God, from whom I was separated for so long! This is the great hope of my mind and body.
ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
Gur Bhaavai Sun Baenathee Jan Naanak Kee Aradhaas ||4||2||4||
गुर भावै सुणि बेनती जन नानक की अरदासि ॥४॥२॥४॥
If it pleases You, O my Guru, please listen to my prayer; this is servant Nanak's prayer. ||4||2||4||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
Har Har Kathhaa Sunaae Prabh Guramath Har Ridhai Samaanee ||
हरि हरि कथा सुणाइ प्रभ गुरमति हरि रिदै समाणी ॥
O Lord God please preach Your sermon to me. Through the Guru's Teachings the Lord is merged into my heart.
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥
Jap Har Har Kathhaa Vaddabhaageeaa Har Outham Padh Nirabaanee ||
जपि हरि हरि कथा वडभागीआ हरि उतम पदु निरबाणी ॥
Meditate on the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, O very fortunate ones; the Lord shall bless you with the most sublime status of Nirvaanaa.
