गुरु पुछि देखिआ नाही दरु होरु ॥
I have consulted the Guru, and I have seen that there is no other door than His.
ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਭਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥

दुखु सुखु भाणै तिसै रजाइ ॥
Pain and pleasure reside in the Pleasure of His Will and His Command.

The duality of Maya dwells in the consciousness of the people of the world.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
Kaam Krodhh Ahankaar Binaas ||1||
काम क्रोध अहंकार बिनासु ॥१॥
They are destroyed by sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||1||
ਦੂਜਾ ਕਉਣੁ ਕਹਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
Dhoojaa Koun Kehaa Nehee Koee ||
दूजा कउणु कहा नही कोई ॥
Whom should I call the second, when there is only the One?
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The One Immaculate Lord is pervading among all. ||1||Pause||
ਦੂਜੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਆਖੈ ਦੋਇ ॥
Dhoojee Dhuramath Aakhai Dhoe ||
दूजी दुरमति आखै दोइ ॥
The dual-minded evil intellect speaks of a second.
ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਮਰਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
Aavai Jaae Mar Dhoojaa Hoe ||2||
आवै जाइ मरि दूजा होइ ॥२॥
One who harbors duality comes and goes and dies. ||2||
ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨ ਨਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਦੋਇ ॥
Dhharan Gagan Neh Dhaekho Dhoe ||
धरणि गगन नह देखउ दोइ ॥
In the earth and in the sky, I do not see any second.
ਨਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਬਾਈ ਲੋਇ ॥੩॥
Naaree Purakh Sabaaee Loe ||3||
नारी पुरख सबाई लोइ ॥३॥
Among all the women and the men, His Light is shining. ||3||
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਦੀਪਕ ਉਜਿਆਲਾ ॥
Rav Sas Dhaekho Dheepak Oujiaalaa ||
रवि ससि देखउ दीपक उजिआला ॥
In the lamps of the sun and the moon, I see His Light.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਬਾਲਾ ॥੪॥
Sarab Niranthar Preetham Baalaa ||4||
सरब निरंतरि प्रीतमु बाला ॥४॥
Dwelling among all is my ever-youthful Beloved. ||4||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Maeraa Chith Laaeiaa ||
करि किरपा मेरा चितु लाइआ ॥
In His Mercy, He attuned my consciousness to the Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਏਕੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
Sathigur Mo Ko Eaek Bujhaaeiaa ||5||
सतिगुरि मो कउ एकु बुझाइआ ॥५॥
The True Guru has led me to understand the One Lord. ||5||
ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
Eaek Niranjan Guramukh Jaathaa ||
एकु निरंजनु गुरमुखि जाता ॥
The Gurmukh knows the One Immaculate Lord.
ਦੂਜਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੬॥
Dhoojaa Maar Sabadh Pashhaathaa ||6||
दूजा मारि सबदि पछाता ॥६॥
Subduing duality, one comes to realize the Word of the Shabad. ||6||
ਏਕੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਲੋਈ ॥
Eaeko Hukam Varathai Sabh Loee ||
एको हुकमु वरतै सभ लोई ॥
The Command of the One Lord prevails throughout all the worlds.
ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥
Eaekas Thae Sabh Oupath Hoee ||7||
एकसु ते सभ ओपति होई ॥७॥
From the One, all have arisen. ||7||
ਰਾਹ ਦੋਵੈ ਖਸਮੁ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
Raah Dhovai Khasam Eaeko Jaan ||
राह दोवै खसमु एको जाणु ॥
There are two routes, but remember that their Lord and Master is only One.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥੮॥
Gur Kai Sabadh Hukam Pashhaan ||8||
गुर कै सबदि हुकमु पछाणु ॥८॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, recognize the Hukam of the Lord's Command. ||8||
ਸਗਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਰਨ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
Sagal Roop Varan Man Maahee ||
सगल रूप वरन मन माही ॥
He is contained in all forms, colors and minds.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੯॥੫॥
Kahu Naanak Eaeko Saalaahee ||9||5||
कहु नानक एको सालाही ॥९॥५॥

मुकति भेदु किआ जाणै काचा ॥१॥
What can the false know about the secrets of liberation? ||1||
ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥
Aisaa Jogee Jugath Beechaarai ||
ऐसा जोगी जुगति बीचारै ॥
Those who contemplate the Way are Yogis.
ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Panch Maar Saach Our Dhhaarai ||1|| Rehaao ||
पंच मारि साचु उरि धारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
They conquer the five thieves, and enshrine the True Lord in the heart. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਵਸਾਵੈ ॥
Jis Kai Anthar Saach Vasaavai ||
जिस कै अंतरि साचु वसावै ॥
Those who enshrine the True Lord deep within,
ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
Jog Jugath Kee Keemath Paavai ||2||
जोग जुगति की कीमति पावै ॥२॥
Realize the value of the Way of Yoga. ||2||
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਏਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਉਦਿਆਨੈ ॥
Rav Sas Eaeko Grih Oudhiaanai ||
रवि ससि एको ग्रिह उदिआनै ॥
The sun and the moon are one and the same for them, as are household and wilderness.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਸਮਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
Karanee Keerath Karam Samaanai ||3||
करणी कीरति करम समानै ॥३॥
The karma of their daily practice is to praise the Lord. ||3||
ਏਕ ਸਬਦ ਇਕ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਗੈ ॥
Eaek Sabadh Eik Bhikhiaa Maagai ||
एक सबद इक भिखिआ मागै ॥
They beg for the alms of the one and only Shabad.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੪॥
Giaan Dhhiaan Jugath Sach Jaagai ||4||
गिआनु धिआनु जुगति सचु जागै ॥४॥
They remain awake and aware in spiritual wisdom and meditation, and the true way of life. ||4||
ਭੈ ਰਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
Bhai Rach Rehai N Baahar Jaae ||
भै रचि रहै न बाहरि जाइ ॥
They remain absorbed in the fear of God; they never leave it.
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਉਣ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੫॥
Keemath Koun Rehai Liv Laae ||5||
कीमति कउण रहै लिव लाइ ॥५॥
Who can estimate their value? They remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord. ||5||
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥
Aapae Maelae Bharam Chukaaeae ||
आपे मेले भरमु चुकाए ॥
The Lord unites them with Himself, dispelling their doubts.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
Gur Parasaadh Param Padh Paaeae ||6||
गुर परसादि परम पदु पाए ॥६॥
By Guru's Grace, the supreme status is obtained. ||6||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Gur Kee Saevaa Sabadh Veechaar ||
गुर की सेवा सबदु वीचारु ॥
In the Guru's service is reflection upon the Shabad.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੭॥
Houmai Maarae Karanee Saar ||7||
हउमै मारे करणी सारु ॥७॥
Subduing ego, practice pure actions. ||7||
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਪਾਠ ਪੁਰਾਣੁ ॥
Jap Thap Sanjam Paath Puraan ||
जप तप संजम पाठ पुराणु ॥
Chanting, meditation, austere self-discipline and the reading of the Puraanas,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੮॥੬॥
Kahu Naanak Aparanpar Maan ||8||6||
कहु नानक अपर्मपर मानु ॥८॥६॥
Says Nanak, are contained in surrender to the Unlimited Lord. ||8||6||

To practice forgiveness is the true fast, good conduct and contentment.
ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਨਾ ਜਮ ਦੋਖੰ ॥
Rog N Biaapai Naa Jam Dhokhan ||
रोगु न बिआपै ना जम दोखं ॥
Disease does not afflict me, nor does the pain of death.
ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਰੇਖੰ ॥੧॥
Mukath Bheae Prabh Roop N Raekhan ||1||
मुकत भए प्रभ रूप न रेखं ॥१॥
I am liberated, and absorbed into God, who has no form or feature. ||1||
ਜੋਗੀ ਕਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਡਰੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jogee Ko Kaisaa Ddar Hoe ||
जोगी कउ कैसा डरु होइ ॥
What fear does the Yogi have?
ਰੂਖਿ ਬਿਰਖਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

रूखि बिरखि ग्रिहि बाहरि सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord is among the trees and the plants, within the household and outside as well. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
Nirabho Jogee Niranjan Dhhiaavai ||
निरभउ जोगी निरंजनु धिआवै ॥
The Yogis meditate on the Fearless, Immaculate Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ਸਚਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
Anadhin Jaagai Sach Liv Laavai ||
अनदिनु जागै सचि लिव लावै ॥
Night and day, they remain awake and aware, embracing love for the True Lord.
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
So Jogee Maerai Man Bhaavai ||2||
सो जोगी मेरै मनि भावै ॥२॥
Those Yogis are pleasing to my mind. ||2||
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਗਨੀ ਜਾਰੇ ॥
Kaal Jaal Breham Aganee Jaarae ||
कालु जालु ब्रहम अगनी जारे ॥
The trap of death is burnt by the Fire of God.
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਗਤੁ ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
Jaraa Maran Gath Garab Nivaarae ||
जरा मरण गतु गरबु निवारे ॥
Old age, death and pride are conquered.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਪਿਤਰੀ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Aap Tharai Pitharee Nisathaarae ||3||
आपि तरै पितरी निसतारे ॥३॥
They swim across, and save their ancestors as well. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sathigur Saevae So Jogee Hoe ||
सतिगुरु सेवे सो जोगी होइ ॥
Those who serve the True Guru are the Yogis.
ਭੈ ਰਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
Bhai Rach Rehai S Nirabho Hoe ||
भै रचि रहै सु निरभउ होइ ॥
Those who remain immersed in the Fear of God become fearless.
ਜੈਸਾ ਸੇਵੈ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥
Jaisaa Saevai Thaiso Hoe ||4||
जैसा सेवै तैसो होइ ॥४॥
They become just like the One they serve. ||4||
