The Perfect Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He fulfills the desires of the mind.
ਤਮ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਉਧਾਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈਐ ॥
Tham Andhh Koop Thae Oudhhaarai Naam Mann Vasaaeeai ||
तम अंध कूप ते उधारै नामु मंनि वसाईऐ ॥
He lifts us up out of the deep, dark pit; enshrine His Name within your mind.
ਸੁਰ ਸਿਧ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
Sur Sidhh Gan Gandhharab Mun Jan Gun Anik Bhagathee Gaaeiaa ||
सुर सिध गण गंधरब मुनि जन गुण अनिक भगती गाइआ ॥
The gods, the Siddhas, the angels, the heavenly singers, the silent sages and the devotees sing Your countless Glorious Praises.

Chaeth Manaa Paarabreham Paramaesar Sarab Kalaa Jin Dhhaaree ||
चेति मना पारब्रहमु परमेसरु सरब कला जिनि धारी ॥
O my mind, be conscious of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, who wields all power.
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥
Karunaa Mai Samarathh Suaamee Ghatt Ghatt Praan Adhhaaree ||
करुणा मै समरथु सुआमी घट घट प्राण अधारी ॥
He is All-powerful, the Embodiment of compassion. He is the Master of each and every heart;
ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
Praan Man Than Jeea Dhaathaa Baeanth Agam Apaaro ||
प्राण मन तन जीअ दाता बेअंत अगम अपारो ॥
He is the Support of the breath of life. He is the Giver of the breath of life, of mind, body and soul. He is Infinite, Inaccessible and Unfathomable.
ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੋ ॥
Saran Jog Samarathh Mohan Sarab Dhokh Bidhaaro ||
सरणि जोगु समरथु मोहनु सरब दोख बिदारो ॥
The All-powerful Lord is our Sanctuary; He is the Enticer of the mind, who banishes all sorrows.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
Rog Sog Sabh Dhokh Binasehi Japath Naam Muraaree ||
रोग सोग सभि दोख बिनसहि जपत नामु मुरारी ॥
All illnesses, sufferings and pains are dispelled, by chanting the Name of the Lord.

O my mind, sing the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable, Eternal, Merciful Master, the Highest of all.
ਬਿਸੰਭਰੁ ਦੇਵਨ ਕਉ ਏਕੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
Bisanbhar Dhaevan Ko Eaekai Sarab Karai Prathipaalaa ||
बिस्मभरु देवन कउ एकै सरब करै प्रतिपाला ॥
The One Lord is the Sustainer of the Universe, the Great Giver; He is the Cherisher of all.
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਮਹਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਾਨਾ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਸੈ ॥
Prathipaal Mehaa Dhaeiaal Dhaanaa Dhaeiaa Dhhaarae Sabh Kisai ||
प्रतिपाल महा दइआल दाना दइआ धारे सभ किसै ॥
The Cherisher Lord is so very merciful and wise; He is compassionate to all.
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਾਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਸੈ ॥
Kaal Kanttak Lobh Mohu Naasai Jeea Jaa Kai Prabh Basai ||
कालु कंटकु लोभु मोहु नासै जीअ जा कै प्रभु बसै ॥
The pains of death, greed and emotional attachment simply vanish, when God comes to dwell in the soul.
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਦੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥
Suprasann Dhaevaa Safal Saevaa Bhee Pooran Ghaalaa ||
सुप्रसंन देवा सफल सेवा भई पूरन घाला ॥
When the Lord is thoroughly pleased, then one's service becomes perfectly fruitful.

ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਮੋਹਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੰਤੈ ॥
Maan Thiaag Kar Bhagath Thagouree Moheh Saadhhoo Manthai ||
मानु तिआगि करि भगति ठगउरी मोहह साधू मंतै ॥
Renouncing our pride, let's charm Him with the potion of devotional worship, and the mantra of the Holy Saints.
ਸਖੀ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਭਗਵੰਤੈ ॥
Sakhee Vas Aaeiaa Fir Shhodd N Jaaee Eih Reeth Bhalee Bhagavanthai ||
सखी वसि आइआ फिरि छोडि न जाई इह रीति भली भगवंतै ॥
O my companions, when He comes under our power, He shall never leave us again. This is the good nature of the Lord God.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੰਤੈ ॥੧॥

नानक जरा मरण भै नरक निवारै पुनीत करै तिसु जंतै ॥१॥
O Nanak, God dispels the fear of old age, death and hell; He purifies His beings. ||1||

ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਰਹਤ ਹੋਇ ਗੀਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਹਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
Sehaj Subhaae Oupaadhh Rehath Hoe Geeth Govindhehi Gaaeeai ||
सहजि सुभाइ उपाधि रहत होइ गीत गोविंदहि गाईऐ ॥
In the peaceful poise of intuitive bliss, violence will be gone, as we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Kal Kalaes Mittehi Bhram Naasehi Man Chindhiaa Fal Paaeeai ||
कलि कलेस मिटहि भ्रम नासहि मनि चिंदिआ फलु पाईऐ ॥
Our pains and troubles shall be eradicated, and our doubts shall be dispelled; we will receive the fruits of our minds' desires.

सखी इछ करी नित सुख मनाई प्रभ मेरी आस पुजाए ॥
O my companions, I yearn for Him continually; I invoke His Blessings, and pray that God may fulfill my hopes.
ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਦਰਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਪੇਖਉ ਥਾਨ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
Charan Piaasee Dharas Bairaagan Paekho Thhaan Sabaaeae ||
चरन पिआसी दरस बैरागनि पेखउ थान सबाए ॥
I thirst for His Feet, and I long for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; I look for Him everywhere.
ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Khoj Leho Har Santh Janaa Sang Sanmrithh Purakh Milaaeae ||
खोजि लहउ हरि संत जना संगु सम्रिथ पुरख मिलाए ॥
I search for traces of the Lord in the Society of the Saints; they will unite me with the All-powerful Primal Lord God.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਰਿਜਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
Naanak Thin Miliaa Surijan Sukhadhaathaa Sae Vaddabhaagee Maaeae ||3||
नानक तिन मिलिआ सुरिजनु सुखदाता से वडभागी माए ॥३॥
O Nanak, those humble, noble beings who meet the Lord, the Giver of peace, are very blessed, O my mother. ||3||
ਸਖੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਸਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਲਿਆ ॥
Sakhee Naal Vasaa Apunae Naah Piaarae Maeraa Man Than Har Sang Hiliaa ||
सखी नालि वसा अपुने नाह पिआरे मेरा मनु तनु हरि संगि हिलिआ ॥
O my companions, now I dwell with my Beloved Husband; my mind and body are attuned to the Lord.
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਦ ਭਲੀ ਮੈ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
Sun Sakheeeae Maeree Needh Bhalee Mai Aapanarraa Pir Miliaa ||
सुणि सखीए मेरी नीद भली मै आपनड़ा पिरु मिलिआ ॥
Listen, O my companions: now I sleep well, since I found my Husband Lord.
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਕਉਲੁ ਖਿਲਿਆ ॥
Bhram Khoeiou Saanth Sehaj Suaamee Paragaas Bhaeiaa Koul Khiliaa ||
भ्रमु खोइओ सांति सहजि सुआमी परगासु भइआ कउलु खिलिआ ॥
My doubts have been dispelled, and I have found intuitive peace and tranquility through my Lord and Master. I have been enlightened, and my heart-lotus has blossomed forth.
