ਸਹਜੇ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਨਾਸੀ ॥
Sehajae Dhubidhhaa Than Kee Naasee ||
सहजे दुबिधा तन की नासी ॥
In peace, their bodies' duality is eliminated.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥
Jaa Kai Sehaj Man Bhaeiaa Anandh ||
जा कै सहजि मनि भइआ अनंदु ॥
Bliss comes naturally to their minds.
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ ॥੫॥
Thaa Ko Bhaettiaa Paramaanandh ||5||
ता कउ भेटिआ परमानंदु ॥५॥
They meet the Lord, the Embodiment of Supreme Bliss. ||5||
ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਓ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
Sehajae Anmrith Peeou Naam ||
सहजे अम्रितु पीओ नामु ॥
In peaceful poise, they drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਸਹਜੇ ਕੀਨੋ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
Sehajae Keeno Jeea Ko Dhaan ||
सहजे कीनो जीअ को दानु ॥
In peace and poise, they give to the poor.
ਸਹਜ ਕਥਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਰਸਿਆ ॥
Sehaj Kathhaa Mehi Aatham Rasiaa ||
सहज कथा महि आतमु रसिआ ॥
Their souls naturally delight in the Lord's Sermon.
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਵਸਿਆ ॥੬॥
Thaa Kai Sang Abinaasee Vasiaa ||6||
ता कै संगि अबिनासी वसिआ ॥६॥
The Imperishable Lord abides with them. ||6||
ਸਹਜੇ ਆਸਣੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Sehajae Aasan Asathhir Bhaaeiaa ||
सहजे आसणु असथिरु भाइआ ॥
In peace and poise, they assume the unchanging position.
ਸਹਜੇ ਅਨਹਤ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥
Sehajae Anehath Sabadh Vajaaeiaa ||
सहजे अनहत सबदु वजाइआ ॥
In peace and poise, the unstruck vibration of the Shabad resounds.
ਸਹਜੇ ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
Sehajae Run Jhunakaar Suhaaeiaa ||
सहजे रुण झुणकारु सुहाइआ ॥
In peace and poise, the celestial bells resound.
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੭॥
Thaa Kai Ghar Paarabreham Samaaeiaa ||7||
ता कै घरि पारब्रहमु समाइआ ॥७॥
Within their homes, the Supreme Lord God is pervading. ||7||
ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਪਰਿਓ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
Sehajae Jaa Ko Pariou Karamaa ||
सहजे जा कउ परिओ करमा ॥
With intuitive ease, they meet the Lord, according to their karma.
ਸਹਜੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸਚੁ ਧਰਮਾ ॥
Sehajae Gur Bhaettiou Sach Dhharamaa ||
सहजे गुरु भेटिओ सचु धरमा ॥
With intuitive ease, they meet with the Guru, in the true Dharma.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਸੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Jaa Kai Sehaj Bhaeiaa So Jaanai ||
जा कै सहजु भइआ सो जाणै ॥
Those who know, attain the poise of intuitive peace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੈ ॥੮॥੩॥

First, they come forth from the womb.

पुत्र कलत्र कुट्मब संगि जुरिआ ॥
They become attached to their children, spouses and families.
ਭੋਜਨੁ ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਕਪਰੇ ॥

भोजनु अनिक प्रकार बहु कपरे ॥
The foods of various sorts and appearances will surely pass away,

What is that place which never perishes?

इंद्र पुरी महि सरपर मरणा ॥
In the Realm of Indra, death is sure and certain.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੁਰੀ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਰਹਣਾ ॥
Breham Puree Nihachal Nehee Rehanaa ||
ब्रहम पुरी निहचलु नही रहणा ॥
The Realm of Brahma shall not remain permanent.
ਸਿਵ ਪੁਰੀ ਕਾ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਕਾਲਾ ॥
Siv Puree Kaa Hoeigaa Kaalaa ||
सिव पुरी का होइगा काला ॥
The Realm of Shiva shall also perish.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਤਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
Thrai Gun Maaeiaa Binas Bithaalaa ||2||
त्रै गुण माइआ बिनसि बिताला ॥२॥
The three dispositions, Maya and the demons shall vanish. ||2||
ਗਿਰਿ ਤਰ ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨ ਅਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
Gir Thar Dhharan Gagan Ar Thaarae ||
गिरि तर धरणि गगन अरु तारे ॥
The mountains, the trees, the earth, the sky and the stars;
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਪਵਣੁ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਨੀਰਾਰੇ ॥
Rav Sas Pavan Paavak Neeraarae ||
रवि ससि पवणु पावकु नीरारे ॥
The sun, the moon, the wind, water and fire;
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਬਰਤ ਅਰੁ ਭੇਦਾ ॥
Dhinas Rain Barath Ar Bhaedhaa ||
दिनसु रैणि बरत अरु भेदा ॥
Day and night, fasting days and their determination;
ਸਾਸਤ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿਗੇ ਬੇਦਾ ॥੩॥
Saasath Sinmrith Binasehigae Baedhaa ||3||
सासत सिम्रिति बिनसहिगे बेदा ॥३॥
The Shaastras, the Simritees and the Vedas shall pass away. ||3||
ਤੀਰਥ ਦੇਵ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਪੋਥੀ ॥
Theerathh Dhaev Dhaehuraa Pothhee ||
तीरथ देव देहुरा पोथी ॥
The sacred shrines of pilgrimage, gods, temples and holy books;
ਮਾਲਾ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਸੋਚ ਪਾਕ ਹੋਤੀ ॥
Maalaa Thilak Soch Paak Hothee ||
माला तिलकु सोच पाक होती ॥
Rosaries, ceremonial tilak marks on the forehead, meditative people, the pure, and the performers of burnt offerings;
ਧੋਤੀ ਡੰਡਉਤਿ ਪਰਸਾਦਨ ਭੋਗਾ ॥
Dhhothee Ddanddouth Parasaadhan Bhogaa ||
धोती डंडउति परसादन भोगा ॥
Wearing loin cloths, bowing in reverence and the enjoyment of sacred foods
ਗਵਨੁ ਕਰੈਗੋ ਸਗਲੋ ਲੋਗਾ ॥੪॥
Gavan Karaigo Sagalo Logaa ||4||
गवनु करैगो सगलो लोगा ॥४॥
- all these, and all people, shall pass away. ||4||
ਜਾਤਿ ਵਰਨ ਤੁਰਕ ਅਰੁ ਹਿੰਦੂ ॥
Jaath Varan Thurak Ar Hindhoo ||
जाति वरन तुरक अरु हिंदू ॥
Social classes, races, Muslims and Hindus;
ਪਸੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਜਿੰਦੂ ॥
Pas Pankhee Anik Jon Jindhoo ||
पसु पंखी अनिक जोनि जिंदू ॥
Beasts, birds and the many varieties of beings and creatures;
ਸਗਲ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥
Sagal Paasaar Dheesai Paasaaraa ||
सगल पासारु दीसै पासारा ॥
The entire world and the visible universe
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਸਗਲ ਆਕਾਰਾ ॥੫॥
Binas Jaaeigo Sagal Aakaaraa ||5||
बिनसि जाइगो सगल आकारा ॥५॥
- all forms of existence shall pass away. ||5||
ਸਹਜ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
Sehaj Sifath Bhagath Thath Giaanaa ||
सहज सिफति भगति ततु गिआना ॥
Through the Praises of the Lord, devotional worship, spiritual wisdom and the essence of reality,
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਚੁ ਥਾਨਾ ॥
Sadhaa Anandh Nihachal Sach Thhaanaa ||
सदा अनंदु निहचलु सचु थाना ॥
Eternal bliss and the imperishable true place are obtained.
ਤਹਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਗੁਣ ਰਸੈ ॥
Thehaa Sangath Saadhh Gun Rasai ||
तहा संगति साध गुण रसै ॥
There, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Lord's Glorious Praises are sung with love.
ਅਨਭਉ ਨਗਰੁ ਤਹਾ ਸਦ ਵਸੈ ॥੬॥
Anabho Nagar Thehaa Sadh Vasai ||6||
अनभउ नगरु तहा सद वसै ॥६॥
There, in the city of fearlessness, He dwells forever. ||6||
ਤਹ ਭਉ ਭਰਮਾ ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥
Theh Bho Bharamaa Sog N Chinthaa ||
तह भउ भरमा सोगु न चिंता ॥
There is no fear, doubt, suffering or anxiety there;
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਹੋਤਾ ॥
Aavan Jaavan Mirath N Hothaa ||
आवणु जावणु मिरतु न होता ॥
There is no coming or going, and no death there.
ਤਹ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਨਹਤ ਆਖਾਰੇ ॥
Theh Sadhaa Anandh Anehath Aakhaarae ||
तह सदा अनंद अनहत आखारे ॥
There is eternal bliss, and the unstruck celestial music there.
ਭਗਤ ਵਸਹਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਆਧਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
Bhagath Vasehi Keerathan Aadhhaarae ||7||
भगत वसहि कीरतन आधारे ॥७॥
The devotees dwell there, with the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises as their support. ||7||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥
Paarabreham Kaa Anth N Paar ||
पारब्रहम का अंतु न पारु ॥
There is no end or limitation to the Supreme Lord God.
ਕਉਣੁ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Koun Karai Thaa Kaa Beechaar ||
कउणु करै ता का बीचारु ॥
Who can embrace His contemplation?
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
Kahu Naanak Jis Kirapaa Karai ||
कहु नानक जिसु किरपा करै ॥
Says Nanak, when the Lord showers His Mercy,
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ॥੮॥੪॥
Nihachal Thhaan Saadhhasang Tharai ||8||4||
निहचल थानु साधसंगि तरै ॥८॥४॥
The imperishable home is obtained; in the Saadh Sangat, you shall be saved. ||8||4||

One who kills this is a spiritual hero.
ਜੋ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
Jo Eis Maarae Soee Pooraa ||
जो इसु मारे सोई पूरा ॥
One who kills this is perfect.
ਜੋ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Jo Eis Maarae Thisehi Vaddiaaee ||
जो इसु मारे तिसहि वडिआई ॥
One who kills this obtains glorious greatness.
ਜੋ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
Jo Eis Maarae This Kaa Dhukh Jaaee ||1||
जो इसु मारे तिस का दुखु जाई ॥१॥
One who kills this is freed of suffering. ||1||
ਐਸਾ ਕੋਇ ਜਿ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥
Aisaa Koe J Dhubidhhaa Maar Gavaavai ||
ऐसा कोइ जि दुबिधा मारि गवावै ॥
How rare is such a person, who kills and casts off duality.
ਇਸਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

इसहि मारि राज जोगु कमावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
