माइआ बंधन टिकै नाही खिनु खिनु दुखु संताए ॥
Bound by Maya, the mind is not stable. Each and every moment, it suffers in pain.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਤਦੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਜਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥੩॥

नानक माइआ का दुखु तदे चूकै जा गुर सबदी चितु लाए ॥३॥

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਗਾਵਾਰੁ ਪਿਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
Manamukh Mugadhh Gaavaar Piraa Jeeo Sabadh Man N Vasaaeae ||
मनमुख मुगध गावारु पिरा जीउ सबदु मनि न वसाए ॥
The self-willed manmukhs are foolish and crazy, O my dear; they do not enshrine the Shabad within their minds.
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਪਿਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
Maaeiaa Kaa Bhram Andhh Piraa Jeeo Har Maarag Kio Paaeae ||
माइआ का भ्रमु अंधु पिरा जीउ हरि मारगु किउ पाए ॥
The delusion of Maya has made them blind, O my dear; how can they find the Way of the Lord?
ਕਿਉ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਏ ॥
Kio Maarag Paaeae Bin Sathigur Bhaaeae Manamukh Aap Ganaaeae ||
किउ मारगु पाए बिनु सतिगुर भाए मनमुखि आपु गणाए ॥
How can they find the Way, without the Will of the True Guru? The manmukhs foolishly display themselves.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
Har Kae Chaakar Sadhaa Suhaelae Gur Charanee Chith Laaeae ||
हरि के चाकर सदा सुहेले गुर चरणी चितु लाए ॥
The Lord's servants are forever comfortable. They focus their consciousness on the Guru's Feet.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
Jis No Har Jeeo Karae Kirapaa Sadhaa Har Kae Gun Gaaeae ||
जिस नो हरि जीउ करे किरपा सदा हरि के गुण गाए ॥
Those unto whom the Lord shows His Mercy, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever.

The One Lord, the Architect of Destiny, is the Master of the Goddess of Wealth; how can I, in my sadness, meet You?

Chalathaa Thumaarae Dhaekh Mohee Oudhaas Dhhan Kio Dhheereae ||
चलता तुमारे देखि मोही उदास धन किउ धीरए ॥
Beholding Your wondrous play, I am enticed; but how can the sad, forlorn bride find contentment?
ਗੁਣਵੰਤ ਨਾਹ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਬਾਲਾ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਭਰਪੂਰਏ ॥
Gunavanth Naah Dhaeiaal Baalaa Sarab Gun Bharapooreae ||
गुणवंत नाह दइआलु बाला सरब गुण भरपूरए ॥
My Lord is Meritorious, Merciful and Eternally Young; He is overflowing with all excellences.
ਪਿਰ ਦੋਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਦਾਤੇ ਹਉ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਰੇ ॥
Pir Dhos Naahee Sukheh Dhaathae Ho Vishhurree Buriaarae ||
पिर दोसु नाही सुखह दाते हउ विछुड़ी बुरिआरे ॥
The fault is not with my Husband Lord, the Giver of peace; I am separated from Him by my own mistakes.

Arapiaa Th Sees Suthhaan Gur Pehi Sang Prabhoo Dhikhaaeiaa ||
अरपिआ त सीसु सुथानि गुर पहि संगि प्रभू दिखाइआ ॥
I have offered my head to the Guru, the most exalted; He has shown me that God is with me.
ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਮਨਹੁ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Khin Maahi Sagalaa Dhookh Mittiaa Manahu Chindhiaa Paaeiaa ||
खिन माहि सगला दूखु मिटिआ मनहु चिंदिआ पाइआ ॥
In an instant, all suffering is removed. I have obtained all my mind's desires.
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਕਰੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ॥
Dhin Rain Raleeaa Karai Kaaman Mittae Sagal Andhaesaa ||
दिनु रैणि रलीआ करै कामणि मिटे सगल अंदेसा ॥
Day and night, the soul-bride makes merry; all her anxieties are erased.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਲੋੜਤੇ ਹਮ ਜੈਸਾ ॥੩॥

My mind is filled with bliss, and congratulations are pouring in.
ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਆਇਆ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਭ ਤਿਖਾ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥

घरि लालु आइआ पिआरा सभ तिखा बुझाई ॥
My Darling Beloved has come home to me, and all my desires have been satisfied.
ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤ ਲਾਲੁ ਗੁਪਾਲੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਖੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
Miliaa Th Laal Gupaal Thaakur Sakhee Mangal Gaaeiaa ||
मिलिआ त लालु गुपालु ठाकुरु सखी मंगलु गाइआ ॥
I have met my Sweet Lord and Master of the Universe, and my companions sing the songs of joy.
ਸਭ ਮੀਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਹਰਖੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਦੂਤ ਥਾਉ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Sabh Meeth Bandhhap Harakh Oupajiaa Dhooth Thhaao Gavaaeiaa ||
सभ मीत बंधप हरखु उपजिआ दूत थाउ गवाइआ ॥
All my friends and relatives are happy, and all traces of my enemies have been removed.
ਅਨਹਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਹਿ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੇਜ ਵਿਛਾਈ ॥
Anehath Vaajae Vajehi Ghar Mehi Pir Sang Saej Vishhaaee ||
अनहत वाजे वजहि घर महि पिर संगि सेज विछाई ॥
The unstruck melody vibrates in my home, and the bed has been made up for my Beloved.
