Santh Prasaadh Param Padh Paaeiaa ||2||
संत प्रसादि परम पदु पाइआ ॥२॥
By the Grace of the Saints, I have obtained the supreme status. ||2||
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
Jan Kee Keenee Aap Sehaae ||
जन की कीनी आपि सहाइ ॥
The Lord is the Help and Support of His humble servant.
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਲਗਿ ਦਾਸਹ ਪਾਇ ॥
Sukh Paaeiaa Lag Dhaaseh Paae ||
सुखु पाइआ लगि दासह पाइ ॥
I have found peace, falling at the feet of His slaves.
ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਤਾ ਆਪਹਿ ਭਏ ॥
Aap Gaeiaa Thaa Aapehi Bheae ||
आपु गइआ ता आपहि भए ॥
When selfishness is gone, then one becomes the Lord Himself;
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਏ ॥੩॥
Kirapaa Nidhhaan Kee Saranee Peae ||3||
क्रिपा निधान की सरनी पए ॥३॥
Seek the Sanctuary of the treasure of mercy. ||3||
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਤ ਸੋਈ ਜਬ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Jo Chaahath Soee Jab Paaeiaa ||
जो चाहत सोई जब पाइआ ॥
When someone finds the One he has desired,
ਤਬ ਢੂੰਢਨ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
Thab Dtoondtan Kehaa Ko Jaaeiaa ||
तब ढूंढन कहा को जाइआ ॥
Then where should he go to look for Him?
ਅਸਥਿਰ ਭਏ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਸਨ ॥
Asathhir Bheae Basae Sukh Aasan ||
असथिर भए बसे सुख आसन ॥
I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the seat of peace.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਸਨ ॥੪॥੧੧੦॥

The merits of taking millions of ceremonial cleansing baths,
ਲਾਖ ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬ ਦੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
Laakh Arab Kharab Dheeno Dhaan ||
लाख अरब खरब दीनो दानु ॥
The giving of hundreds of thousands, billions and trillions in charity
ਜਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
Jaa Man Vasiou Har Ko Naam ||1||
जा मनि वसिओ हरि को नामु ॥१॥
- these are obtained by those whose minds are filled with the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਗਲ ਪਵਿਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
Sagal Pavith Gun Gaae Gupaal ||
सगल पवित गुन गाइ गुपाल ॥
Those who sing the Glories of the Lord of the World are totally pure.
ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਨਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Paap Mittehi Saadhhoo Saran Dhaeiaal || Rehaao ||
पाप मिटहि साधू सरनि दइआल ॥ रहाउ ॥
Their sins are erased, in the Sanctuary of the Kind and Holy Saints. ||Pause||
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਰਧ ਤਪ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
Bahuth Ouradhh Thap Saadhhan Saadhhae ||
बहुतु उरध तप साधन साधे ॥
The merits of performing all sorts of austere acts of penance and self-discipline,
ਅਨਿਕ ਲਾਭ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਾਧੇ ॥
Anik Laabh Manorathh Laadhhae ||
अनिक लाभ मनोरथ लाधे ॥
Earning huge profits and seeing one's desires fulfilled
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਨ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥੨॥
Har Har Naam Rasan Aaraadhhae ||2||
हरि हरि नाम रसन आराधे ॥२॥
- these are obtained by chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, with the tongue. ||2||
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਬਖਾਨੇ ॥
Sinmrith Saasath Baedh Bakhaanae ||
सिम्रिति सासत बेद बखाने ॥
The merits of reciting the Simritees, the Shaastras and the Vedas,
ਜੋਗ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਿਧ ਸੁਖ ਜਾਨੇ ॥
Jog Giaan Sidhh Sukh Jaanae ||
जोग गिआन सिध सुख जाने ॥
Knowledge of the science of Yoga, spiritual wisdom and the pleasure of miraculous spiritual powers
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਮਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
Naam Japath Prabh Sio Man Maanae ||3||
नामु जपत प्रभ सिउ मन माने ॥३॥
- these come by surrendering the mind and meditating on the Name of God. ||3||
ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
Agaadhh Bodhh Har Agam Apaarae ||
अगाधि बोधि हरि अगम अपारे ॥
The wisdom of the Inaccessible and Infinite Lord is incomprehensible.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
Naam Japath Naam Ridhae Beechaarae ||
नामु जपत नामु रिदे बीचारे ॥
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and contemplating the Naam within our hearts,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੧੧॥
Naanak Ko Prabh Kirapaa Dhhaarae ||4||111||
नानक कउ प्रभ किरपा धारे ॥४॥१११॥
O Nanak, God has showered His Mercy upon us. ||4||111||

Meditating, meditating, meditating in remembrance, I have found peace.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Charan Kamal Gur Ridhai Basaaeiaa ||1||
चरन कमल गुर रिदै बसाइआ ॥१॥
I have enshrined the Lotus Feet of the Guru within my heart. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
Gur Gobindh Paarabreham Pooraa ||
गुर गोबिंदु पारब्रहमु पूरा ॥
The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, the Supreme Lord God, is perfect.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thisehi Araadhh Maeraa Man Dhheeraa || Rehaao ||
तिसहि अराधि मेरा मनु धीरा ॥ रहाउ ॥
Worshipping Him, my mind has found a lasting peace. ||Pause||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਮ ॥
Anadhin Japo Guroo Gur Naam ||
अनदिनु जपउ गुरू गुर नाम ॥
Night and day, I meditate on the Guru, and the Name of the Guru.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਿਧਿ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਂਮ ॥੨॥
Thaa Thae Sidhh Bheae Sagal Kaanm ||2||
ता ते सिधि भए सगल कांम ॥२॥
Thus all my works are brought to perfection. ||2||
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨ ਭਏ ॥
Dharasan Dhaekh Seethal Man Bheae ||
दरसन देखि सीतल मन भए ॥
Beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, my mind has become cool and tranquil,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ॥੩॥
Janam Janam Kae Kilabikh Geae ||3||
जनम जनम के किलबिख गए ॥३॥
And the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations have been washed away. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਾ ਭੈ ਭਾਈ ॥
Kahu Naanak Kehaa Bhai Bhaaee ||
कहु नानक कहा भै भाई ॥
Says Nanak, where is fear now, O Siblings of Destiny?
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪਿ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੨॥

अपने सेवक की आपि पैज रखाई ॥४॥११२॥
The Guru Himself has preserved the honor of His servant. ||4||112||

The Lord Himself is the Help and Support of His servants.
ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ਬਾਪ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
Nith Prathipaarai Baap Jaisae Maaee ||1||
नित प्रतिपारै बाप जैसे माई ॥१॥
He always cherishes them, like their father and mother. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਉਬਰੈ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥
Prabh Kee Saran Oubarai Sabh Koe ||
प्रभ की सरनि उबरै सभ कोइ ॥
In God's Sanctuary, everyone is saved.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Karan Karaavan Pooran Sach Soe || Rehaao ||
करन करावन पूरन सचु सोइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
That Perfect True Lord is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||Pause||
ਅਬ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰਾ ॥
Ab Man Basiaa Karanaihaaraa ||
अब मनि बसिआ करनैहारा ॥
My mind now dwells in the Creator Lord.
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Bhai Binasae Aatham Sukh Saaraa ||2||
भै बिनसे आतम सुख सारा ॥२॥
My fears have been dispelled, and my soul has found the most sublime peace. ||2||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Apanae Jan Raakhae ||
करि किरपा अपने जन राखे ॥
The Lord has granted His Grace, and saved His humble servant.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
Janam Janam Kae Kilabikh Laathhae ||3||
जनम जनम के किलबिख लाथे ॥३॥
The sinful mistakes of so many incarnations have been washed away. ||3||
ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Kehan N Jaae Prabh Kee Vaddiaaee ||
कहनु न जाइ प्रभ की वडिआई ॥
The Greatness of God cannot be described.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੩॥
Naanak Dhaas Sadhaa Saranaaee ||4||113||
नानक दास सदा सरनाई ॥४॥११३॥

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਈ ॥
Jo Jo Chithavai Dhaas Har Maaee ||
जो जो चितवै दासु हरि माई ॥
Whatever the Lord's slave wishes, O mother,
ਸੋ ਸੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੧॥
So So Karathaa Aap Karaaee ||1||
सो सो करता आपि कराई ॥१॥
The Creator Himself causes that to be done. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
Nindhak Kee Prabh Path Gavaaee ||
निंदक की प्रभि पति गवाई ॥
God causes the slanderers to lose their honor.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੧੪॥
Naanak Har Gun Nirabho Gaaee ||2||114||
नानक हरि गुण निरभउ गाई ॥२॥११४॥
